joke about pole dancing and the reality for good liberal writers getting paid in the current media playing field.

Not sure how these questions relate to that conversation. Were they supposed to be funny?  Are you a really good writer (or any other occupation) who needs a job? You're on Medicare. My probability is she doesn't have health insurance at all. BTW, the fall should be covered under worker's comp.  And they would find a way to weasel out of it. (I've done worker's comp case management.)

Dude, I'm an old, apple bellied white gal who has knee problems, not to mention other health problems, going on 3.75 years with no health care. I don't have to ask anyone about whether pole dancing is a job I should apply for. I have been known to crack obvious jokes that even walking Mile High's notorious Colfax Ave isn't an option, just because humor while your supposed retirement home is being foreclosed, is largely gallows variety.

I don't know what the pay is, probably sucks. The tips are where they can get better than min. wage. And I have no idea what that amounts to.

Apparently there are others who took the comment as a obviously joke.  I've had strippers and pros as home and acute care patients. It's a choice some women make to try to get out of the hole our country tends to push us into. I've always been acutely aware of it, now it is where my life has gone.
