  •  Obviously, Romney's visit is a campaign ploy-- (0+ / 0-)

but what bothers me right now is (as they say) "the optics" of President Obama announcing his planned Monday visit after Romney waved his arms and said "Me first!!"

I can understand the President wishing to avoid getting in the way of the rescue work being done - but to not say anything about an upcoming visit before Romney jumped in just does not look good. And we all know it's how things LOOK that sway the un- or marginally-informed.

Anybody have any insight into this?

was made before Alfred E. Jindal's invite to Romney. Obama made the right choice, Romney made a politician's choice. It already sounds like Romney has made a bit of a fool of himself. I really doubt if Obama is worried about Romney's visit as Obama's visit will be seen through the lens of humanitarian motives, not political [except of course by screwball wingnuts, but F them.]

      •  I hope that's how the President's visit (0+ / 0-)

will be seen. What is your source about his decision?  On a recent newscast (maybe ABC, not sure) it was reported that Romney was cancelling a political event of some sort in order to go to NOLA. The report concluded with something like this: There's no word yet on when the President will go.

        (Love your Alfred E. Jindal!)
