    2 NW passage sailboats that found some track through there some years ago. One was shaped such that ice constriction would heave it up into the air and not be crushed.

    If you're willing to design a sailing vessel to survive its environment, instead of to being ludicrously fast in super ideal conditions, it's amazing what pre industrial technology can accomplish by working with nature.

    Let those who have ears to hear, hear.
