We all know how they think.

They thought they’d put up a big manly picture of Eastwood in a cowboy hat holding two guns, and then Clint Eastwood– an American icon, an Academy Award winner, the successor to John Wayne and The Ultimate Daddy Figure - would come out and tell everyone that the tough manly GOP boys deserved their vote.  Killer.  "We're not like those democrat fags!"

    What could go wrong?

Clint Eastwood WAS a macho icon. 40 yrs ago. Maybe 30 yrs ago. You noticed that was the picture they put up. Not who he is NOW, but who he USED to be.

But his recent roles have been more like what he is now - an old man, no longer in his physical prime, but still mentally pretty sharp. But an old man who longs for the past, when he was young and strong and could do anything.

That's the GOP in a nutshell. They want to go back to a past that never existed, except in their minds.
