    As noted above by 4CasandChlo.

    I believe methane is something like 23x as potent as CO2 while it's in the atmosphere, but stays in the atmosphere for something like 1/5 as long. So it's only 5x as potent, more or less, in the long run.

    But given the fact that early effects can multiply via a self-reinforcing feedback loop, 23x is probably the number to focus on.
