I ran multiple marathons, back in the day, and a couple of longer races.  To imagine that you could run your first (and only) marathon in under three hours shows that you are completely ignorant of the whole process.

My best mile time was 5:09.  I could string 6 minute miles together for quite a while.  My 10Ks were always around 36 minutes.  But my best marathon was well over three hours.  At a time when I was running 60-80 miles a week, training in the Sierras, running a 10k pretty much every weekend.  A casual jogger isn't going to get anywhere close to three hours.  4:01 is just about right.  And I would praise him for that, if he had just said it.  Running one over four hours is almost as hard as running one under three...the length of time just beats you to a pulp.

to break 3 hours in a marathon.

This lie could break him. It's one thing to lie about a complicated policy of which 95% of the electorate have no clue.

It's another thing to lie about something that a large portion of the population have some direct experience with.

      This could go viral.
