  •  Didn't you listen to the Rev? (11+ / 0-)

Where your treasure is, that's where your heart is! So yeah, definitely has a well-traveled, much stamped passport!

I read these remarks last night but just got to hear them on NPR this morning. Pretty brilliant stroke there. The kidster and I laughed when he said, "In Matthew, chapter 6, verse 21, the scriptures teach us..." because it sounded so much like a sermon! I'm a heavy-duty agnostic, but I don't think we should cede the moral high ground to the Repub's twisted view of religion.

I think Strickland's follow-up is more important though: Any man who aspires to be our president should keep both his treasure and his heart in the United States of America. If you want to be rich and shelter your money, you should be able to, I guess, but then don't claim you're a patriot and you know how to improve our economy because of your great amassed wealth. We can't do that with our national budget. We have to invest in our country, not in Switzerland.

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. --Mark Twain
