  •  Well said, Laurence. (9+ / 0-)

Here's my personal take on the death of the GOP: I am an old Millennial or a young Gen Xer, depending on how you define when each generation began or ended (I was born in '80).  I know this is anecdotal, but among my friend group (which ranges in age from mid-20's to late 30's) there is only ONE couple who identifies are Republican.  One.  Out of probably 30+ people.  And-surprise!-the couple who identify as Republican (well, more so as "conservative", I've never heard them call themselves "Republican") is also the couple who is financially the best off.  I personally think they are secretly Democrats but they just don't know it yet, lol.

ANYWAY, everyone else, in my circle at least, knows the score.  There is a lot of unhappiness with the Democrats, but at the end of the day, my friends all know what the Republicans are and that they absolutely do not have their best interests at heart.  They view the Republicans as a bunch of racist, fascist, religious zealots who burdened them with astronomical student loan debt. These are the people who are helping crush my friends' dreams about having a stable job, house, and family. No one I know will be forgetting that any time soon.  I think they've permanently lost both the Millennials and the younger Gen Xers, at least if my circle is any indication.

Everywhere they look, their numbers are shrinking. Eventually, they simply won't have enough warm bodies to win anything. I'm hoping that day comes soon!

How many divisions does OWS have?

right?  They truly are doomed.  Between my generation, and those younger than me, being both more liberal and more diverse, the end is nigh.  The question is, how ugly will it get before the GOP as we know it is gone?
