  •  Paul Newman in boxer shorts. (6+ / 0-)

    Oh my.

The only unrealistic thing was that Joanne Woodward's character was able to resist him until the end of the movie!

    •  Newman was a liberal, but James Garner was (4+ / 0-)

a winger.  Newman lived one of the best lives imaginable in my book.  Worked hard, married well, took care of his kids, pursued his formula one racing, drank his beer then quit when he wised up, started a company that gave all its profits to charity, and is indelibly printed into the fanstasy lives of millions.  Sigh.

Romney went to France instead of serving in our military, got rich chop-shopping US businesses and eliminating US jobs, off-shored his money in the Cayman Islands, and now tells us to "Believe in America."

      •  Hole in the Wall Gang camps -- for children (3+ / 0-)

with serious, terminal and/or chronic illnesses. A friend of my younger daughter goes every year for a week -- totally free. And she says it's the best week of her life. According to Wikipedia:

The camps serve 13,000 children every year, free of charge.
And I just read that his Newman's Own company has donated about $330 million so far to charity.
