  •  Actually Ann, there is a way to keep our children (20+ / 0-)

from having to pay the debts:

Sometime, somewhere, somehow someone's going to have to pay off these debts, and it's going to be our children.
You could pay your fair share of taxes right now,  and shoulder some of the responsibility for the debt you and your favorite party incurred in demanding multiple wars.

Lordy, it's like being at a dinner party at a restaurant where everyone has shared a meal, and it was decided the tab would be split equally, and then the check comes, and the people whose wallets are the most stuffed at the table say, "Oh great googlymooglies!  Will you look at that!  Look at what all you people ate!  How can we ever pay for that?  Our children are going to have to pick up that tab! Oh, our poor, poor children!  Will no one think of the children? Waiter, more drinks, please."
Not that such an absurd thing has ever happened at a dinner party.

"On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps...of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again."
