  •  Yeah and about that 13 point bounce... (8+ / 0-)

in approval. I think this points out a couple of important things.

    A) Obama is not good at and not comfortable with self-promotion

    B) He needs (and has needed over the last 3 years) more opportunities to get out in front of the American people and do exactly that. Speak up on what he's doing (done) and put a polish on it.

I gave him top marks in the poll (over Bill and Michelle) for speaking. Thought it was a fantastic speech. Then I thought: he needs to do more of same.

    •  here's the thing. (7+ / 0-)

If he really thinks that "WE" did this, then it wouldn't be self-promotion.

He's letting US down, if he's not promoting all the great things WE have done.

      Let's let HIM know this.

Yep! Self-promotion is something "the other guys do". But really, it's what we all need. We need someone to make the case for America heading off in a new, progressive direction.

I remember prog's on this board, positively salivating when Obama started getting in R's faces and pushing his agenda across the swing states last year and this.

Thing is, a progressive agenda works, is good for us and good for Barack Obama as a politician.
