involves putting your opponent on mute--because allowing him/her to speak makes you a 'right wing shill'.

    What a farce.

Good journalism allows the interviewee to speak--whether in talking points or not--and asking pointed questions in response.

ALSO--good journalism also knows when to let go when an answer is not forthcoming.  You have a limited time to cover several subjects--best you can often do is let the interviewee babble and make it plainly obvious he's babbling.

That was a quality, cutting interview--the kind you would see on BBC.

irritated to death by the way the repugs act - and we "nice" liberals let them - that anything less than a total shaming shutdown of the lying sob seems insufficient.

You'll see some repugnican shill on Maher, and no one gets a word in edgewise because he keeps interrupting and then holds the floor, and none of the left/lib/dems on the panel want to interrupt.

At least lately he just tells them to STFU because they aren't entitled to their own facts.

I didn't say she was a right wing shill because she let him speak.  All I'm saying is (a) this is the least we should expect from journalists, and (b) see above.

Why is it that a 3% tax increase for the wealthy is considered "socialism" and an 8% wage cut for the middle class is "doing your part"? MartyM
