you can be assured if there is a rmoney in the white house, things international will go back to bush-levels.  we can't afford to let that happen.

dealing with syria and gaza and even friendly nations like egypt involves diplomacy - not putting everything out on the internet.

airing every thought by governments would cripple their effectiveness.  it's called "good offices" - an actual term i learned from kurt waldheim's secretary - where diplomats try to find solutions out of the public spotlight where they are forced to solidify their positions.  the diplomat uses his "good office" to try to sway the course of events.  it works - sometimes - but it is ALWAYS worth the try since alternatives can involve death and destruction.

going to war or talking of going to war is a bellicose act that can push us in directions that we don't want to go.  look at the differences between the bush years and obama's term.  we are OUT of iraq and leaving afghanistan.  that takes delicacy not to leave a void that gets filled with the worst energy.

syria is dangerous and so is iran - any instability in the mid east is very very dangerous.  look at how iran moved into iraq with it's influence immediately after the "war" - that was bush2's fault!

ah, but don't get me started ... have to leave for a while so i'm disappearing.  for the moment, anyway.
