Nolan's got the home field advantage for the Iron Range and Duluth, but the district has a lot of new area just north of the Twin Cities metro area with a lot of Republican voters, & I'm bothered by the fund-raising differential. Nolan needs some outside money to make sure we can put Cravaack down this cycle.

Rick Nolan is actually from Brainerd, in the southwestern part of the district, so he's well positioned to make some inroads outside the DFL heartland in the Northeast.  He's a great candidate who has run a great campaign, and people are fired up.  We do need to close the money gap a bit, but if we do, we are well positioned to win this thing.  So please send money!

    •  Nolan is indeed from the Range (1+ / 0-)

but he is from the Cuyuna Range, south of the Mesabi Range in the west-central part of the district.  He also has strong ties to the southern parts of the 8th - he taught school in Royalton, and it is from there he was elected first to the state legislature and then to Congress. Nolan does indeed need help to combat the enormous amount of money that is flooding into the district from the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson.
