How easy we forget. The MSM had gone into a bunker mentality. Rove stated there would be a permanent Republican government. The meme that progressive media was unsustainable and unprofitable was echoed everywhere. NPR management was replaced by the Bush Administration. The control of the media by the Bush Administration was near complete.

There was one voice that was willing and able to speak to power every night. And that was Mr. Keith Olbermann. The nation, no the world owes him a debt of gratitude. The disastrous economy and the never ending wars would still have happened; there just would have not been any accountability.

To be that voice took courage. Many here worried whether they would let him live.

One poster mentioned that the situation made KO; but I say there was many who could have lead the return to sanity but none of them did or could.

After President Obama was elected things changed. It was like a great warrior that no longer had the great battle against all odds to fight.

What happened will be lost in our collective memories eventually. It will not be in the history books for our children to learn to prevent repeating the nightmare. No, some Texas right wing committee will require history books to include how Bush was not allowed to implement good God fearing policies by the liberal media so the country was no longer the shining city on a hill or some such.
