  •  great as usual (4.00)
one addition He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable,...for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

I believe in the  report louise slaughter published there is information detailing  how the  GOP has called for  votes on legislation at  strange  and inconvenient times, on short notice, recess  appointments, etc.  in order to  confuse dems and keep them from voting and knowing what is in  the legislation.

you could add that link  there.

    •  Yes, I was looking for one (4.00)
But all I could find was in the Congessional record where I think it was Durbin who made the point.  Since to through Thomas search, it would have been a dead link. If anyone has one, I'd be glad to update.

sigh this is why we need an independent media.

Repubs subverting democratic process. big yawn. no news. I found about 5 links in google news none by any newspaper.

here is a quote from the report which I got off a blog (bellacio?)

"Emergency" meetings and late-night sessions discouraged Members and the press from participating in the legislative process. These were driven by Republican Members of the Rules Committee.

here is a nice graph from yglesias blog on "open rules" legislation debates.

thanks for all that you do!!!
