    Are you using DB2 V9?

... this past February, and there are a number of new features I would love to play with.

Unfortunately I'm in the midst of amending a GUI application written in VB5 (no longer supported) using an ancient version (also unsupported) of a screen scraper called Mitem.

One day I hope to join the rest of the world in the technical vastness of the future.  Until then, I'm just grateful to be employed.

on just being employed.  I'm contract through Volt for a very big yellow earth moving machine company.  Interesting though.  There are lots of companies that have the 'old' stuff and don't know how to convert to 'modern'.  So, it helps that there are still people out there that know how to maintain the stuff.  IT is being taken for granted now and "they" don't realize how much of their companies are completely (or at least very heavily) dependent upon the IT departments to keep running.

I'm not positive that they're on V9, but definitely V8.
