    was made by the President this morning:

    "While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants,"
    That sentiment should not have been repeated.  Anything that starts with "while" followed by what actually happened is too close in appearance to justification.

      First of all, it's not the same statement. The original Cairo statements came before there was any violence, so obviously they couldn't denounce something that hadn't happened.

      And with regard to your attempt to parse this language somehow as justification, I'm speechless. Unequivocal opposition is, well, go look up the adjective.

      Consider that there are other Americans overseas all over the world today, and I think you will realize why the President and Secretary Clinton believed that it was also of critical importance to reiterate our government's opposition to religious bigotry.
