  •  I'm baaack, after a look at WiKiPedia (0+ / 0-)

Something else may be causing his hearing loss, but I doubt it is/was Oxycontin.

    From WiKiPedia:
    Oxycodone
      (Redirected from Oxycontin)
Not to be confused with oxytocin, oxandrolone, hydrocodone, or oxazepam.

Oxycodone is an analgesic medication synthesized from poppy-derived thebaine. It was developed in 1916 in Germany,[5][6] as one of several new semi-synthetic opioids in an attempt to improve on the existing opioids: morphine, diacetylmorphine (heroin), and codeine.[1]
    .........

    Adverse effects
The most commonly reported effects include memory loss, constipation, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, light headedness, headache, dry mouth, anxiety, itching, and heavy sweating.[12] It has also been claimed to cause dimness in vision due to miosis. Some patients have also experienced loss of appetite, nervousness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, urine retention, dyspnea, and hiccups,[2] although these symptoms appear in less than 5% of patients taking oxycodone. Rarely, the drug can cause impotence, enlarged prostate gland, and decreased testosterone secretion.

In high doses, overdoses, or in patients not tolerant to opiates, oxycodone can cause shallow breathing, bradycardia, cold, clammy skin, apnea, hypotension, miosis (pupil constriction), circulatory collapse, respiratory arrest, and death.[2]

Remember that little episode he had in Hawaii, a couple of years ago?  Do I see fatigue, dizziness, shallow breathing, circulatory collapse, respiratory arrest listed here?

He doesn't seem to suffer from any loss of appetite thou.  LOL!

    •  I quit feeling sorry for him when I heard that (0+ / 0-)

reported, now it's too late to start up again.  Einstein said it is not what you don't know that is the problem it is what you know to be true that isn't.

Never promote men who seek after a state-established religion; it is spiritual tyranny--the worst of despotism. It is turnpiking the way to heaven by human law, in order to establish ministerial gates to collect toll. John Leland

      •  I certainly don't feel sorry for him (0+ / 0-)

Nor do I respect him, and I hate what he and his lot have done to divide the country and stir up hate.

If he had a heart, he could raise awareness and give some aid to non-profits & hospitals & researchers trying to help those of us who are hearing impaired.  But of course, he doesn't.

Instead maybe he wants to hide under the excuse that the Oxycontin was the cause of his hearing loss.  Because he is invincible!   GAG!

        Carry on!

        •  On this one issue, i'll defend him - a little (0+ / 0-)

Rush Limbaugh holds an annual charity event for Leukemia. It raises a significant amount of money for some very important charities.

He's not purely evil -- just mostly... with that one saving grace.
