They recruited me.  I left my childhood home (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky) the last time in 1978 - never looking back.  Cincinnati is a very conservative area - Boehner's hometown.   It is conservative to its core.  I have not returned to Greater Cincinnati since 1978.  I even left my emotionally incestuous siblings (right wing Catholic family - parents died many years ago).  I had to get out of that smothering and repressive region - especially as I am a Liberal/Progressive and Gay and believe in a strong social safety net.  I learned the Beatitudes and a very strong Catholic workers' social gospel.  I left the church when I moved to Florida in '78.  I created my own families and extended families in my lifetime.

I want no part of Cincinnati.

I actually am sick of Florida at this point.  The US is a declining and failing society.  I would prefer living - say - in the South of France - a very sane country with universal health care and an educated electorate.   I'd settle for Costa Rica at this point - no military - universal health care - gentler citizenry than in the US.  I really have become disgusted with much of life here in the US - including the horrific amount of gun violence and disregard for the old, sick and poor/homeless.
