My former beau, a truly wonderful person, is a Coptic Christian, born in Egypt and raised in Canada. (That's not why he's a former!) Maybe it's because he is non-practicing and more of an atheist, but in all the conversations we had about things like this, I never once heard him express anything reminiscent of the collective guilt, unwanted exposure, and helplessness that Jews sometimes feel in situations exactly like this one. The collectivist notion is simply not there -- he would say, "but that's just one person, and that one person does not represent me." The Copts are horribly persecuted in Egypt, so I don't know why the feelings are not the same.
