and also cognizant that there are other groups taking advantage of this as well.  Obviously the attack on the Libyan post wasn't a matter of just rioters, although the rioters are bad enough they at least didn't kill anyone.  There are clearly militant groups using the protests as cover, and I wonder how may of them were just waiting for an opportunity like this.  I'm half convinced that it was one of those groups that translated the "trailer" and spread it around.  Not to mention that the MB in Egypt is being profoundly dishonest at this point.  Ignorant of the fact that there are in fact people in the US foreign service that can read Arabic the MB has been talking out both sides of their mouth, stirring up people to go to protests while condemning the protests at the same time, the former on their Arabic twitter account the latter on their English language account.  I guess the right wing religionists are the same everywhere.

I heard this assessment last night about terror groups using this as cover.

And yep you are right about right wing religionists either here or there (Egypt). The MB is playing a dangerous game of trying to balance it's rhetoric with the reality of running a country. They got people so whipped up with hatred after years of propaganda that they "built themselves into a corner". They want AND NEED American support but they spent so much time promoting hatred of things Western that to follow that line would create problems.

President Morsi is in a tough place (one of his own party's choosing), now he has to find a way out.

the MB isn't a fully unified organization.  I expect that if Morsi isn't involved in trying to organize protests, which is entirely possible, then there is either going to be a schism or the political party will take control of the organization.  In terms of long term stability I think the latter is the most preferable.  But it is a broad organization, so even if the political wing gains significant control because of their state power, assuming of course that they aren't actually pushing for more protests, they are in the dominant position and will hopefully push for a less confrontational course.

I really wish that we could make it clear to Muslims around the middle East that we Americans don't support this movie, and we don't support vilifying Muslims.
