    The whole idea of fact-checking is to put out fires caused by "verbal arson". To put out something so dangerous you would THINK that they would use very simple words to describe it. Not confusing or apologizing words like "MISCHARACTERIZED".

    That response should not end up needing PC Filter for describing an OUTRIGHT LIE.

    When in court they swear you in and tell you that you are required to "tell the truth and nothing but the truth". And if you are caught lying the penalty can be jail time. But in our media, lying for whatever reason is not even called "Lying". It has so many pseudonyms that it obscures the fact that the person pretty much got away clean with saying a lie.

    I am not saying we need to drag out the branding irons and pitchforks for every bit of political slander. But we do need to stop publicly apologizing or accepting apologies from others for "verbal arson".
