  •  Florida and Ohio were lost to the GOP... (16+ / 0-)

In 2010, when they won the governors' mansions in both states.  After two years where the voters in each state had a chance to witness, first hand, Republican mismanagement of their economies, they've had enough.  Add to that various anti-union and voter suppression hijinks and the GOP name is tarnished in both states.

Frankly, I'm surprised that the polls are showing the race to be even this close.  I have a feeling that it really isn't so close and President Obama is winning going away.  As for Virginia, I'm really hoping that Kaine benefits from Obama voters in the Senate race.

Now, I'm waiting to see new polls out of Arizona, Missouri, Indiana, South Carolina, Georgia, and Montana.  If we move any of those states into tossup or even slightly-lean Republican territory Romney is in a heap of trouble and we can start talking about GOP voter enthusiasm going down Romney's crapper.

The most dangerous... programs, from a movement conservative's point of view, are the ones that work the best and thereby legitimize the welfare state. Krugman
