    You mean there's an election coming up?

    I have the only yard sign in my neighborhood. I haven't seen any Romney signs. I see some random state representative signs, and the local Democratic party has put up its occasional sign along the highway, but the GOP hasn't cluttered up the roadsides like they did for the primary.

    If there's enthusiasm for Romney here in BSC-Ted Cruz country, I don't see it.

      is hardcore GOP country of the wingnuttiest variety. Typically, during a presidential election year people here would be chattering non-stop about politics, but there's no such activity this time.

       In fact, the lack of enthusiasm for candidate Romney is palpable; I ask the few Repubs that I can talk to about these matters intelligently what they think of him and his chances, and the typical response is a rolling of the eyes, or a sad shrug.

       I'm almost wondering if most of them have already written off 2012 as a loss...
