    My dad introduced me to this when I was a teen.  It's really good music, and I was always astounded that a rock song could be three quarters of an hour long.  He recalled going to a concert that opened with Thick as a Brick... the full version.  Everyone was into the music, and the song ended, Ian Anderson announcing, "And now, for our second song..."  The crowd erupted in laughter.

      There were only two proper songs on the album, but lots of variations in each.  You father was cool.  I took my family to see The Who before Entwistle died (no kids old enough in 1978).  All of them still are happy that they got to see them.
