    It really doesn't make sense to applaud the belated recognition of the courtiers that the emperor is naked when it was obvious to a child that he was naked from the beginning. I can appreciate the clever turns of phrase the courtiers use when they finally recognize what was obvious to everyone else. After all, the courtiers exist for their ability to spin clever turns of phrase. But, being clever is not the same thing as being smart. So I'm not much in the mood to congratulate them for their belated enlightenment. Nor do I expect them to be any more quick on the take next time. Their past history suggests that disdainful laziness will ever be their standard.
