    But that isn't what is possible in Texas anymore.

    And that's still beside the point. The point is not what I'd like, the point is that it isn't what I'd like that matters. I can crow all day long about how I'm a southern conservative to moderate Democrat, but I'm also someone who supports expanding minority rights and entrenching those rights. I'll work very hard to elect my own type of Dem wherever possible, but every minority community deserves to have their voice heard whether that voice is Artus Davis's or Eddie Bernice Johnson or Lacy Clay. It doesn't matter to me who they choose so much as it matters that they have that damned choice.
