  •  How nice it would have been if Mitt Romney paused (11+ / 0-)

his attacks on the President, pulled out a TV and big screen, watched our slain brothers come home, and paid respects to them

I can't imagine that Candidate Obama would have ignored that entirely. He would have said something. He would have acknowledged the huge loss that the state department and our country sustained, the personal loss of the family and friends of the men.  Maybe not set up a TV, but make an extended statement about service and sacrifice.

But what the hell am I saying? Mitt Romney knows nothing about neither service nor sacrifice.

I cried through that whole service. And when they switched over to Romney attacking the president, it was jarring in a way I can't even explain.  Even George W Bush would have respected the fact that today was a sacred day for our country. Our brothers came home, having died in service our country. Decency requires that national politicians stop and simply say "thank you."

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.

I have yet to hear one pundit refer to Romney's prior incident of inserting himself into the middle of an issue before all the facts are known.

Blind Chinese Dissident - remember that? Remember how Romney jumped in to criticize the President while Hillary Clinton was negotiating?

This is a troubling tendency Romney displayed on more than one occasion. What would he do as President - shoot first, ask questions later?

Here's Bill Kristol on Romney jumping in on that issue:

KRISTOL: I’m happy to be critical of the Obama administration as anyone is, but I think this is fast moving story. And if I were advising Governor Romney, I’d say you don’t need to get in the middle of this story. If this turns out badly, and it would be a terrible thing, it will turn out badly. People will know. … To inject yourself into the middle of this way with a fast moving target I think is foolish. [...]

There is no need to butt into a fast moving story when the secretary of state is in Beijing with delicate negotiations and say it’s a day of shame for the Obama administration. Hillary Clinton is waking up right now. Let’s see if she can pull this off in the next 12 hours or so.

It's like they all got amnesia.
