  •  It's pathetic but on one of MSNBC shows yesterday (4+ / 0-)

I'm sure I heard an interviewee claim that Obama said that Egypt was not an ally but an enemy and the host did not correct it. I wish I could remember the show. Did anyone else hear that?

    •  I think you mis-heard. n/t (0+ / 0-)
    •  No, but Scott Pelley of CBS has done similar (4+ / 0-)

things in his most recently aired Obama interview, which has been shown in two segments over the past two Nightly News shows.  Asking Obama, (not exact quotes): "You mentioned your failings during your tenure: what exactly are those?" with a headline "Obama Failings?" leading up to the story (that's how much it stood out, and at the very beginning).  Accusing Obama of being the one to obstruct consensus for legislation and asking him in a heated tone, "What are YOU going to do to come to agreement with the Republicans?  They say you are the one at fault."

I've been willing to give Pelley a pass for his right-lean because he and his team do a decent job of presenting both sides accurately; but, his personal bias and manipulation of questions is infuriating at times.  I don't see him asking similarly hard questions of Romney, and he completely blew his credibility when he interviewed Scott Walker a month or so ago no equivalent counter argument.

      •  Yes, I believe you're right... (0+ / 0-)

it was their correspondent at the White House which is who Mike is. So I wasn't imagining things after all! I think it was the Ed Show with Ezra Klein filling in.

was that Egypt is not an ally and also not an enemy, but a new government trying to find its way. That was at the point when Egypt had not officially condemned the attacks on the US embassy there.
So either the interviewee misquoted him, or you misheard the interviewee or something.
