  •  His false ad on the STOCK Act needs to be rebutted (20+ / 0-)

Elizabeth Warren needs to take a tougher stance when he opens the door with a blooper like this false ad.

How about an ad that says:

Republican Scott Brown is taking credit for the STOCK Act.

In July the Boston Globe reported that “Brown, …  has taken credit for … winning passage of the legislation”

Now in an ad, Republican Scott Brown looks at you and says: “So I filed a bill to stop insider trading in Congress, and got it passed and signed into law … ”

    Not so fast, Scott Brown.

The Boston Globe reported on September 12, 2012 that

“Brown’s bill, however, was not signed into law. The bill that made it to Obama’s desk was introduced by Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, the Connecticut independent. …"

"Brown has said that he does his homework and that he reads the bills that come before Congress. But in this instance, Brown’s measure was so hastily drafted that it contained exact language lifted from an earlier House bill on the same subject. And even after Brown’s draft was set aside by the Homeland Security Committee in favor of another version, Brown continued to claim credit in an encounter with President Obama.

So Republican Scott Brown tells you “from the road” what he claims he did.

If that is the best Republican Scott Brown can do, he should hit the road.

"The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave." -- Patrick Henry November 6, 2012 MA-4 I am voting for my friends Barry, Liz and Joe (Obama, Warren and Kennedy)
