  •  well, if you want to frame it that way, (6+ / 0-)

sounds like romney & lyin' ryan don't really want congress' tax laws to change all that much -- & instead, want them to be even more generous towards the aristocracy! -- romneyhood is what they'd really like to see: make the poor pay $$$$ to the rich for the "privilege" of being allowed to live in a cardboard box under a bridge & dumpster dive for food.

ya know -- just like it was in the good olde days of the 14th century.

    •  LOL... it's not "framing" (1+ / 0-)

nice try my friend... NO cigar.

there are loads of loopholes, deferrments, ways for the wealthy class to weasel out of paying their actual tax bracket level.

      are you telling me otherwise?

and where did these tax laws come from? uhhh, maybe the Millionaires in our congress??

        you: it's congress' fault.

me: yes, AND romney/lyin' ryan's, too, b/c they want to preserve -- & expand the pos tax code to be even more generous to the aristocracy.

you: the rich don't pay taxes b/c congress gave them lots of loopholes, etc.

okay. so, you're point is what, exactly?  i was responding to your "meh" comment on the diary by saying the diarist is correct in calling for mitt to release his taxes -- ALL of them, & not just the ones he chooses -- & you seem to be saying (again, correct me if i'm wrong) that he's just playing by the rules so why bother . . . which is the same thing i hear the rw talking heads (like susan del persio) say all the time: "look, this is the way the legislation is written, & so-&-so is just playing by the rules, blah, blah, blah."

if your point is to argue for a complete overhaul of the existing tax code, i'm all for it.  if you're blowing off romney releasing his taxes, i disagree.  it's important.

      •  That's not the point. (3+ / 0-)

Mitt isn't saying the people he's maligning are evading the taxes they owe. He's maligning them, in part, because they don't owe taxes. He's maligning them for following the tax code and paying no more than what they owe, which is exactly what he says he did. So let's see how much he owed, let's see how much he paid, and let's see how different it is from those he maligned.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
