    Honestly, so fucking frustrating.

Let me ask you something, sincerely: would this sentence make any sense at all if Romney didn't think are shitty:

And, and, we said gosh! I can't believe that you, you know, keep these girls in! They said, no, no, no. This is to keep other people from coming in.
What the fuck would he be saying ANY of this for, if not to show this shitty factory?

    Fucking hell.

labor rights? He was there to buy or invest in a factory. If he didn't know about conditions in Chinese factories when he initiated his trip, he was probably the only one on the planet. And still, after seeing the place for himself, he was willing to go right on investing. Did he have any kind of epiphany? Did he begin talking about the deplorable conditions in Chinese factories? Did he talk about pressing China on human rights?

His "gosh golly gee" comments are about the mildest form of criticism I have ever seen.

      •  Are you honestly pretending that you don't get (0+ / 0-)

that what he's saying here Is "America rocks! and China sucks!"

Are you honestly saying you do not understand that? Because I just don't get it. It is honestly murdering my sould ight now to try to understand you.

        The story started with this:

95% of life is set up for you if you were born in this country. And, I remember going to ah, uh, sorry just to bore you with stories.
The story is about America - "And to show how awesome america is, I'm gonna give you this shitty place for comparison!"

Give me a crumb. Please. Don'tmake me lose all my faith in this place.

        •  Are you pretending that he wasn't comfortable (0+ / 0-)

with labor conditions that included a fence and guard towers?  The point isn't that he said life is easier in the US.  The point is that he was willing to treat people in whatever way necessary to make money for himself.  Most people like money, but most people would have been shocked by what he saw.

those comments came from his Bain partner, not from Romney. Do you want me to pretend Romney is a hero for noticing the obvious conditions in that factory? None of this stopped him from investing in places like that one. And again, Romney is on the side that wants to crush unions, fire public employees, remove worker protections and environmental regulations - just like China! Did you not see the part of his comments where he praised the Chinese regulators for standing back and letting the "private people" make decisions about business practices there? It looked like a ringing endorsement. Romney had the floor; he was perfectly free to state that we deplore the Chinese factory model, but he did nothing of the sort. Would he, as President, champion workers' rights, or continue to press China on human and labor rights?

If he was cheerleading for America there, he did a pretty terrible job. But the main point is that none of this mattered to him, so long as he could make money off of the situation. Why is that something to celebrate?
