      FWiW, lineatus, I thought Eastwood was doing a Colbert, and that he felt certain they wouldn't recognize the satire. If so, they didn't!

      I kept a bookmark of Colbert's famous takedown of Bush at the Press Club, and I thought, having known Eastwood in the 1970s, that he could never endorse Romney or any other idiot who confused him with the characters he played. He got invited, specified his terms, and just went at it. More power to him. I wish he'd endorse Obama now, but that would blow the purpose of the satire.

        If he prefers Obama at all(and that's a mighty big if) it's because at least he's competent.

        If there was a viable option where both men could lose, I might be willing to bet that Clint would take it.
