Willard did shut down Bain on a workday in 1996 to get staff looking for the managing director's missing daughter (she had sneaked from Connecticut to New York City, the story goes, to attend a rave, where she took too much Ecstasy and...). He paid for 30 employees to take the shuttle to NYC from Boston and work on finding the missing girl.

I give Willard credit for pulling strings and spending his own money to help out a co-worker. [One whose continued psychological well-being would naturally have a bearing on the financial success of the company he ran-- a company in which Willard still had considerable financial interest. Of course, this is an extremely cynical viewpoint that would reduce Willard Rmoney's actions to craven self-interest....]

However, I would note that one doesn't see such anecdotes where he didn't know the person-- and/or have a financial interest with the person. I don't think Willard has that degree of empathy. I truly doubt he has even a scintilla of concern toward anyone pulling down less than $10 million a year.

-8.75,-8.00. 1,138 rights and responsibilities of civil marriage are denied married same-sex couples, and I demand that we get them. RIGHT. NOW.

    •  He not only knew the father personally (18+ / 0-)

Robert Gay is also a leading Mormon, so he was a fellow church member as well.

        I forgot that little tidbit-lette.

We are talking about Willard Rmoney, the latest Republican born with a silver foot in his mouth. Born to a Mormon family with favored bloodlines, raised in affluence, given every conceivable advantage-- the fact he got such a cushy job at this private equity firm had everything to do with his family wealth and LDS connections, I'd say.

Of course, the Mormon cult knows that it's too weird to ever get every American to join its ranks. But they've invested enough money to ensure that they can buy everything and take dominion over America and her people financially, haven't they?!

And most organized religions are about worshipping the Almighty Dollar, no?

also probably the names of American people who have died so they can baptize them all as Mormons. After all they did that when they got ahold of the names of they Jews that were killed by Hitler's boys and baptized them. They promised that would stop but it hasn't.

As far as looking for the employee's kid– mitt was stake president at that time — which is like being a Cardinal and he was caring for his flock, a church duty.

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... *I'm asking you to believe in yours.* Barack Obama

      So there's one.

      Any others?

If I'm hearing crickets, then that's disappointing. The public can recall more stories of him being a jerk than being human. Heck, his own kids can tell more stories of him being an asshole than being a father.

I hope he enjoys the retirement home his kids pick out for him. I'm sure they'll stay within a budget, so it won't be the nicest out there. It'd be nice if they pay for some extra activities -- I doubt they'll have time to visit him there, so he'll need something to occupy his time -- but I can understand it if they don't want to spend the money. They're just practicing what he taught them.
