too many people think just like him. Food stamps? Welfare? That's not HELP. I'm not sure what they think help is, but it's not food stamps, welfare, student loans, pell grants, head start, free public education, free roads, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, or veterans benefits.

They really DO want a hand out, not a hand up. Anything they get from the govt isn't help, they're ENTITLED.

But god forbid they fall on hard times and aren't qualified. Then whatever they didn't get (usually because they make too much already) should be cut off tomorrow because THEY didn't get it.

However, if they DID qualify, it still wouldn't be help. Because they don't need govt help. They're not moochers. They're not lazy.

So it's not 'help'. Not quite sure what the hell it is, but don't take it away.

reading an article the other day.

As you can see from the title, that % represents people on that program who think they don't use "government benefits".
The one thing that we, as Democrats, are failing on, is getting the message out.

When the public is fully aware of the benefits it's receiving, it's possible that voters will recoil in shock at the degree of their dependency, or perhaps they will regain a healthy respect for the role of government in providing some of the security that helps them take full advantage of their capacities and opportunities.
