  •  It's like Bill said, their math doesn't work (6+ / 0-)

Those of us in the 65 - 75 age group who "won't be hurt" by the Ryan plan and who are most likely to vote Republican are also the ones most likely to have a parent in a nursing home AND children just below the age 55 cut off for his "won't be hurt" plan.

At 65, and with health problems of my own, I know FOR SURE that I'd be in a world of hurt if a parent of mine were turned out of a nursing home and had to come live with me. And, I'm worried sick about the people in the 45 - 55 age group who, in Romey's plan, won't be able to count on either Social Security or Medicare yet don't really have enough time to save enough to be on their own for retirement and medical care after 65.

That Paul Ryan ever thought we seniors would ONLY care about ourselves says a lot about what a monster he is.

    •  Ryan forgot (5+ / 0-)

He forgot that most seniors are parents.  parents love their children, and that love doesn't stop when children become adults.  Doesn't matter the age, the bond is deep, and loyalty is absolute.  Seniors aren't going to flush their children and grandchildren down the toilet for a few extra bucks.

Instead of reading Atlas Shrugged, maybe Ryan would have been better off reading Silas Marner.

Since the time the child was sent to me and I've come to love her as myself, I've had light enough to trusten by; and now she says she'll never leave me, I think I shall trusten till I die.

Please feel free to HR me for my informative and argumentative nature. 'To know what is right and to do it are two different things.' - Chushingura, a tale of The Forty-Seven Ronin
