I'm not great at math, but ok. I had not done taxes for 25 years at least as my then husband did them. On my own then, I started a business. I had to have an accountant. Things got more complicated. Then had to sell my business and do my own taxes. I had to figure things out. I was able to do so. I got all the right forms and filled them all out. So if I could do that, this tax lawyer wife and mother could do that. You do not forget 20% of your income. You just don't. I'll never believe that. Maybe they needed a bit of spare cash and put this tax bill of 20k on hold by handling it this way. Because with their kind of life, the travel, child care etc., 300k doesn't probably go that far. (And I say that now as a poor person who used to, in the late 1980's live on a 90k salary with one child --and still found it hard to make ends meet somehow.)

Really, this is a non story. If I had to pick a tax return to focus attention on, it would be Mitt's and not this one.

I looked over his publicly released 2010 & 2011 returns and his story does hang together.

His returns are relatively straightforward and I am able to say with a straight face that there is no hanky panky going on here.

Before I had all the facts, my position was that he would have no good reason to try and evade taxes intentionally, and based on what I saw it confirms what I thought.

      There's nothing there.

If you want to hold out, be my guest.

Is it sloppy? You bet, but nothing I haven't seen before dozens of times in my own practice. People misplace and forget about this stuff, if happens.

piling on to the Ryan lack of truthfulness however, and that's a good thing. Just my opinion. After all the lies I've seen from him? No way can I give him the benefit of the doubt. His lies have been too numerous, loud and huge as well as grievous!
