So agree with you about Thom---I, too, value him for how much I always learn from him.  Plus he's always respectful of his guests and callers.  And the guy can argue/debate like very few others I've encountered.  He's got such a quick intellect!

Hope all is good for you.  We're doing just fine here--I've been really busy getting caught up on all the stuff that got set aside when my mom was in a nursing home and then the 9 months it took to get her estate settled, her house sold, etc.  I didn't realize until all the duties and obligations came to an end how much my husband and I had let slide.  So, it's a good feeling to be getting things done and the To Do list getting shorter.

chat with you. I remember well when you were going through the hardships of settling your mom's estate. And I have even more empathy now than I did then, as my father passed away three weeks ago, and I now find myself in those shoes.

He was 91, and had a long and good life, but that doesn't take away the sting of his absence.  He was the kindest, most gentle man, and I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.

AND, the details and decisions of closing down his life, including getting his house on the market, are indeed, SO overwhelming.

Still, my brother is the more pragmatic type and wants the house on the market tomorrow.  We are doing extensive work on the house and trying to squeeze it into a couple of weeks. I must be careful not to let that circus and stress push aside my mourning process.  It's a tough balancing act.

And, I so agree, Hartmann is not only smart as a whip, with a fabulous sense of historical perspective and fact, but he is also, always a gentleman.  In today's world that is rare and to be treasured.

Sending warm thoughts your way, and an so happy your life has evened out to a calmer flow.  I look forward to that.
