      Please post facts, not fiction. It only outlawed closed shops.

      Again if the network unions thought this was an important strike that they needed to support, they could. They chose only to support in voice.

        gave employers the right to sue for contract violations, which effectively ended the concept of sympathy strikes.

          done so successfully. TV networks  use teamsters. So back to my original point, the REAl unions do not feel these faux unions are worth it.

            IATSE is cameras, sound, lighting, sets, etc. in television.

            We can honor picket lines but not go out on sympathy strikes, as per (most of our) CBAs.

            TV networks use teamsters to drive, load & unload trucks.
            When I worked TV for NFL games, I was on IATSE contract.

            (that may have changed - I've been on B'way for 15 years)
