    ...pays for ER care if the patient doesn't have insurance and can't pay. Here in Dallas County, such a person would have to go to the taxpayer-supported hospital (Parkland) to get help. And did Romney consider who pays if the patient can't? Yep, you're right if you say local taxpayers. And Romney and his GOP friends claim to be champions of taxpayers (not just the richest 1 percent, but everyone else as well)? I don't think so. I hope Romney gets challenged on that point in debates if not earlier.

      In states other than Texas they accept Federal support for expanding Medicaid, so it's not just local taxes paying for it - and there are options other than the ER as well.
