    supposedly "hates" the idea of society paying for healthcare for the poor.

    Emergency room visits are FAR more costly than routine preventative care. If someone is poor and goes to the emergency room not only will it cost WAY more to save the person from what are mostly preventable problems, but the STATE ends up paying for it.

    First the hospitals take the hit, which is part of why we have so many CLOSED hospitals in this country (it certainly isn't due to lack of demand) and then after doing free administrative work, ultimately the STATE fits the bill.

    It is a system that is failing. It is a system that requires tax payers to pay for healthcare in the most ineffective, most expensive way possible. It's quite literally the crappiest iteration of a single payer system.

    Mitt Romney is insane for thinking this is a preferable system to Obamacare. I hope to GOD that he uses this answer in the debates (seems likely) and Obama wipes the floor with him on this point.

    We lose if we choose to forget; the lives of men, and money spent.
