    does NOT mean that O2 was in lethally short supply. Oxygen masks are required on civil aircraft and made to drop under very specific conditions.

    Supplemental oxygen.

    (a) General. No person may operate a civil aircraft of U.S. registry--
    (1) At cabin pressure altitudes above 12,500 feet (MSL) up to and including 14,000 feet (MSL) unless the required minimum flight crew is provided with and uses supplemental oxygen for that part of the flight at those altitudes that is of more than 30 minutes duration;
    (2) At cabin pressure altitudes above 14,000 feet (MSL) unless the required minimum flight crew is provided with and uses supplemental oxygen during the entire flight time at those altitudes; and
    (3) At cabin pressure altitudes above 15,000 feet (MSL) unless each occupant of the aircraft is provided with supplemental oxygen.

    Now, do oxygen masks sometimes fail to operate? Sure, but it's rare. And there is no evidence that the flight crew (who generally use a different system) felt the need to use oxygen either.

    Soooo.....

    No Oxygen masks, as far as I'm concerned, indicated that there was sufficient O2 ... unless Mitt's plane is really poorly made and/or maintained.

    Maybe someone should be asking him that.

    People in the throes of something scary tend not to be the best judges of how truly life-threatening the situation actually was. I don't downplay that she was frightened. But "Ann was frightened," and "Ann didn't have enough oxygen and could have died" are two entirely different situations.

    So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.
