  •  How long do we think the concept of "tenure" will (7+ / 0-)

    survive? There is a full on assault on the teacher's unions going on right now - why will higher education be impervious to this, especially with some of the statistics being floated here about the number of cvs being submitted per position?

      It's also yet another good argument as to why adjuncts need to be unionized.  They're straight teachers at the moment--they aren't expected to do research or publish.  If they're being hired as teachers, they ought to have representation as teachers and not as faculty members, who get tenure and pensions and many other perks that adjuncts do not.
