    Want 10 years of general experience and still want to pay entry-level wages, and utterly refuse to invest in their employees through training.  And, sometimes, wanting crazy shit like 5 years of experience in a programming language that's only been out for three.

    I'm becoming convinced that most of the 'worker shortage' is a combination of unrealistic expectations (they want it all, for less, and they want it now, with no investment of time or training,) and the stupid use of overly-aggressive resume-culling software.
