  •  I think that in the case of the Aloha plane, there (0+ / 0-)

    was a crack in the fuselage itself. Basically, a big chunk of the top of the plane ripped away. There was enough left and enough of the controls opertative for them to land the plane.

    BTW, a good argument for keeping your seat belt on at all times.
