        That as a general rule the President should never issue executive orders? That as a general rule he only issue non-controversial executive orders?  That as a general rule he only issue executive orders that I agree with?

        I'm just pointing out that  President has power to do things even when he cannot get Congress to pass legislation.  The President could, e.g., recess-appoint someone to take DeMarco's place and thereby implement principal writedowns, no matter what Congress does or does not do.  He could signed the ENDA executive order.  The President unilaterally can and has led us into wars and foreign escapes.

      and an executive order is only as good as the president that signs it. The day Obama left office the next guy could wipe everything out no matter how huge our majorities were in Congress
