  •  You too... (12+ / 0-)

This should, G-d willing, be a better year for you filled with health and sweetness and happiness.

I've been joking for the past few months that the call for my mom's kidney will wind up coming on Yom Kippur while it's my turn to open the Ark and I'm standing right up there.  I'll hear my phone go off, see who it is, and then have to literally run while the Ark is still open.  While the rabbi knew I was joking when I told him this, he very seriously responded, "You go!"

PS  I always love how when the subject is in Hebrew the ratings on the comment also go right to left.  :-)

Enacting our agenda requires winning elections. Oh, and me on Facebook.

    •  I don't remember if it was "The Chosen" (2+ / 0-)

or "The Promise" (it's been so long since I've read them), but there was a part where the guy was called to help someone on Shabbat, and he didn't know what to do. The rabbi, like your rabbi, told him that he had to go. It was required of him. While I don't remember all the details, the thought still makes me cry.

Thank you for the apology, although I don't recall any offense. May you have peace and may you be inscribed.
