  •  Well, I've never been to the UK (5+ / 0-)

But when I took a trip to British Columbia and had an unexpected health issue, my friends, residents of BC took me to a clinic or health care facility to see a doctor.

I was in a great deal of discomfort and pain.  The doctor saw me right away (hmm where were those long waiting lines I keep hearing the Repubs talk about).  He spent over a half an hour talking with me and getting my medical history and examining me.  That was a shocker right there, no 5 min. doctor consult where Dr does all the talking?

After he determined what the problem most likely was, he gave me a RX. . .no I mean he gave me the actual meds. He told me to follow up with my own doctor when I got back to the USA and then as I left the office/facility I stopped at the front desk to offer my insurance card.  The nice woman there smiled at me and said it was unnecessary, there was no charge.  Even though I'm not Canadian?  No, no charge to me or my US Insurance Co.

Yeah, what a terrible socialist system that is.

Single Payer NOW!  It's the only way that makes any sense.
