  •  You totally miss the point (0+ / 0-)

the point being that he has done nothing to change the underlying fundamentals that led to the meltdown in the first place.

So yeah, one can argue that stop gap measures like the puny stimulus package avoided an even worse short term outcome - fair enough.

But over the longer term, we're still firmly headed down the path that led to problems in the first place.

I'd have plenty of patience if he'd at least TRIED to change the underlying fundamentals, which he hasn't.

    •  And it's all on Obama. There hasn't been anyone (6+ / 0-)

obstructing the changes that would be required to fix some of those fundamental things.

Heck, ever since Obama took office, there has been a transition in Washington DC and a new level of cooperation and enlightenment took hold after he was elected.

Republicans admitted how bad things were int he Bush years and that they made major mistakes.

Knowing all this, Republicans stated they were firmly committed to working with this President to right the worngs that had been made.

Obama just decided not to try to fix anything because...you know..whatever.

    •  You are off-topic, but also incorrect. For... (4+ / 0-)

...example, there's the Dodd-Frank Bill that he signed in 2010. And, as I mentioned earlier, there is the CFPB. Both of these, while giving no guarantees, will at least help the middle class and make it a bit less likely that "we're still firmly headed down the path that led to problems in the first place."

But none of this has to do with whether the recovery is taking longer than we should have expected.  So let me ask you: how long do YOU feel it should have taken?
